If you’re serious about a career in the advertising industry, the American Association of Advertising Agencies is serious about helping you make it happen. Through the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), students work at real advertising agencies, take on real job responsibilities, and learn from real-world business situations and industry professionals. Students selected for the annual 10-week paid summer internship program, which runs from early June to mid-August, will hone their skills in one of the following advertising disciplines:
- Account Management
- Art Direction
- Copywriting
- Broadcast/Print Production
- Digital/Interactive Design
- Media Planning/Buying
- Project Management
- Public Relations
- Strategic/Account Planning
- Traffic

How to Apply
To be eligible to apply for MAIP, a student must be:
- Asian/Asian American or Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic, Black/African American, American Indian/Native American, Multiracial or Multiethnic (e.g., Hispanic and Black);
- a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (visas are not accepted);
- currently a college junior, senior, or graduate student (Fall and Spring graduates may apply). Students attending an AAAA-participating portfolio school are also eligible to apply;
- earning a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.7 to 2.9 are encouraged to apply, but must complete an additional essay question in the student application);
- able to demonstrate a serious commitment to pursuing a career in advertising, regardless of chosen major.
If you qualify to be a part of MAIP, the internship could be a big step toward a career in a dynamic, creative industry. But, the first step is up to you.
